A Romantic Moody Wedding Story in the Rain: A Charlotte, NC Celebration of Love

Abbie + Joseph

Welcome to this stunning gallery featuring a springtime forest wedding that perfectly captured elegance and romance with a hint of rustic charm. This romantic moody wedding story was set in Charlotte, NC and despite the rainy day, the celebration was breathtaking! Love and joy filled the air, making it an unforgettable event for everyone.

Incorporating Tradition: Honoring family and tradition was important to the couple. The bride carried a brooch with her grandmother's picture, a touching tribute that kept her memory close. Additionally, they included a blue detail, adding a classic "something blue" to their day.

Even on the dreariest of days, our bridal suite inside Fern Hall remains bright and airy, providing the perfect backdrop for stunning “getting-ready” photos. This ensures that, no matter the season or weather, your photos will be stunning too!

"A cord of three strands is not easily broken" was artfully displayed at their ceremony with three cords to symbolically braid.

Theme & Colors: The theme of this wedding was a perfect blend of elegant, romantic, woodsy, and chic elements with just a hint of rustic charm. The color palette featured champagne, dusty rose, and moss, creating a moody yet enchanting atmosphere for their forest wedding ceremony.

The Couple's Vision: Joseph and his bride wanted their day to feel traditional yet easy-going, flexible, joyous, and full of love. They chose to do a blind touch and prayer before the ceremony, adding an intimate and heartfelt moment without a first look.

Everyone needs a “flower grandpa”! Especially when they are as fun as this one!

A Touch of Rain: The rain added a unique, moody ambiance to the day, enhancing the woodsy and rustic feel. As you can see, the couple was still all smiles. It was a reminder that love shines bright even on the cloudiest of days.

Ceremony Highlights: During the ceremony, Abbie and Joseph included a moment of worship with "Hymn of Heaven" by Phil Wickham, beautifully synchronized with the tying of the cord of three strands. The couple exchanged traditional vows during the ceremony and reserved intimate personal vows for after the ceremony in a special private moment before joining the reception. Witnessed only by their photographer and videographer, they washed each other's feet symbolizing their commitment, mutual respect, and humility.

Reception Re-Cap: Their wedding day concluded with an amazing reception filled with special moments. Complete with speeches and toasts, traditional family dances, and a selfie station for their guests, it was a celebration to remember! Guests savored delicious food prepared by Tin Kitchen, danced to non-stop music courtesy of DJ Zac Keiter, and enjoyed the most decadent cake artfully created by Sassy Cakes Bakery.
